Dream House

Sean and I have a million ideas that we talk about for our dream house. I want to start keeping a good file of all these ideas. One thing we dream about is a tree lined drive...

Best Bears Ever

My dear friend, Hallie, has become an amazing knitter overnight. She makes these bears that I think she should sell on Etsy. Aren't these absolutely irresistible? I love the picture of the bears hugging. How sweet. Come on, Hallie...you need to sell these...I will buy one in every color.

Chair Idea

So, since I can't afford Imperial Trellis, and despite the fact that I continue wasting time trying to find it or a good copy, I figure I'd better look at other options. Here is one thought...maybe just plain burlap though...

Purses

I am on the hunt for the purse of my dreams and pretty much have been since late last year. I don't know why it takes me so long to find one. I want one that will last many seasons, is made of good quality leather, can go with as many colors as possible, can be worn with something casual or to work...basically, it needs to be everything in one. Why is that so hard to find?

I am so sad that my large cream bag has worn out, but I LOVED having a cream purse...it could go with everything. Sean thinks I should get a small purse, but there is something about a big bag that I just love. I have gotten used to just toting my wallet recently, and I would have to admit...it is nice not carrying around an extra 10 pounds...but I think my love of big bags will prevail.

So, I am thinking, cream or camel colored purse, and my obsession is Ruehl purses - however, they are too pricey, in my opinion. I keep scouting eBay, but no luck yet!

Stained Glass

We have one full bath in our apartment, and it only has a roller shade. The window unfortunately looks right into our friend's/neighbor's kitchen. I leave the shade open if I am not in there to give my plant some light, but many of our visitors have sat down before they realize that they might be a little too intimate with our neighbors! So, I was hoping to get some stained glass for a window treatment in the bathroom. Instead of buying one, I signed up for a Stained Glass class with our neighbor, Jan - whose kitchen we can see into :) We have our first class tonight.

I have no idea how this is going to go, but I have found some pictures so that I can have some potential designs. I hope it will be fun if nothing else!

Repeat Listener

Much to the dismay of Sean, and probably others at times, I am a BAD repeat listener. Are you? There are just songs that speak to me on certain days, especially nice spring days.

These are my two favorites from the last couple days:

The Starting Line - Something Left to Give
Eric Hutchinson - Rock n Roll (I really like the acoustic version)

Dave Matthews always seems good for a nice day out, too. Which takes me back to college days...

Dave Matthews Band - Crush
The Foundations - Build me up Buttercup...I remember listening to this with the girls while driving around campus during the week of Little 500

Mother Nature

Sean, Glory and I went to the Arnold Arboretum yesterday and spent most of the day there. It was so gorgeous, fun and relaxing. Mother Nature really is amazing...

I love how Glory is smiling in this one...look closely :)

A slight chill in the air

The last few days here have turned out to be beautiful, warm spring days. In the mornings and evenings though, there is still a slight chill in the air. Sean and I spent some time on the porch later last night, and it was so peaceful to be outside. I was wrapped up in my blankets, which reminds me of this great bar that we went to in London...it was right next to the Tate Modern on the Thames...what a brilliant idea - a cart full of blankets, complete with snuggle rules!

One day, I will have a big basket with a mess of blankets for guests when I make them sit outside with me when it is a little too chilly :)

I love planting too early

Being as impatient as I am, I always buy plants too early. I spent most of the day going up and down all our flights of stairs in pursuit of getting some planting done in hopes of attempting a small "urban" garden up on our porch. There is no water source on the 3rd floor, so upkeep is going to be a blast. I have to figure out how to collect rain water up there so I am not lugging a watering can up there every day!

Planted so far:
--three types of lettuce
--two tomato plants
--LOTS of basil. I was in the mood for pesto
--thyme
--lavender (makes me happy to smell it)
--rosemary
--chives

Now...if I can just resurrect my one lemon tree that is trying to make a comeback!!

Maybe one day I will have my dream garden...once we are settled.

Wax Seals

I have been wanting a wax seal for years. I just find them to be so classy. They are such a wonderful detail and nice finishing touch to a handwritten letter. I thought this one was really pretty...
